RV7 Insurance Costs ?
06.09.2009 at 13:27:45

I'm loking at building an RV7 and I just need some information regarding aircraft insurance.

Could anybody please just give me a rough idea how much it costs to insure one of these ?

There are online insurance quote pages but I am only looking for a very rough estimate and don't fancy getting bombarded with phone calls from insurance salesmen for the next twenty years !!

Hopefully the airplane will be in a hangar, hopefully at Manchester Barton.

Any info will be very much appreciated.

Thanks for any help.

Barry.

It varies depending upon how much you insure it for, how much overall experience you have + how much on type, etc etc. My old '4 group with 8 members with reasonable experience was about £1200 if memory serves correctly.

I agree with Rob, there are several variables that affect the price. Assuming you have a few hours on something similar the initial quote might be around £1600 (or more if you put a high value on the hull). With a good claims history you could see that reduce by a couple of hundred quid or so each year over the next 3 years. My last renewal was just under £1000.

Rob,

There appears to be a problem where Ex-member appears as the last poster and makes the post unreadable. Only resolution seems to move the post and move back. Although this caused a problem on the container section and the post was somehow deleted.

Hopefully if I get time in the new year I will upgrade the forum.
