Compressor choice

Hello All,

I am on the brink of RV construction but am in need of an air compressor for house renovation purposes prior to commencing the real work of building an aeroplane. Killing two birds with one stone: what compressor would those that have already learned the lessons recommend for me to buy? Is there a minimum size, and what benefits are offered by direct drive, belt drive, oil-free options? The choice seems a little more mesmerising than I'd like.

The compressor's initial use is to run a needle gun for cement plaster removal - just in case your expertise extends in that direction.

Thanks.

Here it is.............  Wink

http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/se16c150-air-compressor

Running like a top after 7 years - enclosed in a sound proof enclosure, remote drain, silenced intake - works a treat.

Needs hard wiring through a cooker socket though.

7 Flying !, 8 in both workshops. Next one will be quicker, simpler, better. But they all say that, don't they ?

I picked up the ER14/150 from Shiremoor:

Like Mike's mine sits in a noise reduction enclosure, and I used the idea from http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?t=54705 for an intake muffler -- it does make a big difference. The compressor runs of a 13 amp socket in my kitchen (I'm building in the living room). A nicer drain valve is still on my todo list.
