Title: Generous offer of storage for spring09container
Post by David Richard on 18.01.2009 at 21:11:06

Hello folks,

Duncan, one of our 'members' has given me his permission to share the following paragraph of one of his messages to me....

Quote:
On a more positive note, I sent off my £300 to LAA last week to register an RV7 build so will definitely be up for including an empenage in the spring container. Also if it helps I have a large warehouse inStoke Mandeville where the container could be offloaded and various kit stored pending collection. End quote.

So this might help some of us as a storage 'depot' to facilitate collection if not at the Felixstowe port of entry.

Thanks a lot Duncan.  :)

Regards David

Hello Duncan,

thanks for your kind offer.  When my complete 8QB kit arrives I need to split it so that would be realy useful as my garage is a bit tight!.  I was planning on storing the fuselage and empennage in the hangar at Benson until I had done the wings but the RAF may need the space for something else.  If it was possible to leave a few crates in your warehouse that might dig me out a hole if that comes to pass.  I am building in my garage in Haddenham so can easily come and help move, lift, transfer, unpack etc.

Regards,

John

(David - could you pass on if required)

Hi Folks

Just to clarify, I'm able to offer to store kits on a short-term basis only as a means of getting the container unloaded in one go at a single location (Stoke Mandeville near Aylesbury). We have a forklift available during business hours to unload the container or load kits into your transport if required. Unfortuantely I can't offer longer term storage while you complete earlier kits etc. so I'll need everyone to pick up their kit(s) within a few weeks of delivery.

Best Regards

Duncan

Duncan,

Thanks for the clarification. I'm interested and I'll prospect the group and see if it's suitable for all. Can you please PM me with your phone details etc. Thanks  :)

Jon (BM)

Can you give us an indication of the transport costs from Felixstow to Stoke Mandeville please?

Regards

David

Hi chaps just seen thread

Re Unloading because of the HMRC regime used for the import we can only unload at an approved ERTS facility and therefore the unloading option for the container is not applicable. Unloading will take lace in felixstowe and then crates will be cleared by UK Border Agency.

Re delivery to Stoke Mandeville the entire contents could be reloaded to a road vehicle with curtain sides and sent to stoke Mandeville approx cost £400 + VAT

Storage in Short Medium and Long term is available here in felixstowe at our facility at a rate of 3 GBP per CBM Per week
