Title: RV6 /7 performance with different propellers
Post by Phil_Hall on 22.01.2015 at 19:05:49

Hello,
I am fitting a wooden propeller to my RV7 with a 0-320 (160HP) and have been having discussions with a few RV 6 & & owners about their performance figures and am getting some quite different figures back, so I would like to find out what is the real (indicated) performance of completed RV's which are flying.

If your willing to send your figures to me I'll compile them so there is a valid 'norm' of performance.

I'm particularly interested in 0-320 performance, but will compile the data from other engines and CS props if sufficient is received.

The assumption would have to be that the RPM and ASI are reading correctly. I'm not likely to correct for IAS conditions unless it proves necessary.

The data which would be of most significance is:

Max static
Cruise Speed and RPM
with wide open throttle, straight and level what RPM ad speed is indicated.

Hopefully some interesting data will come from this and be of benefit to may RV owners and builders.

Cheers
