Flight Test?  Anyone take me?
27.09.2011 at 08:16:52

Hi People.

I have a flexwing pilots license and really like the look of the Vans.

I am considering building one at some stage (I have built two kit cars before) and was wondering if anyone near me would take me for a flight.  I will obviously pay for half the fuel.

I live in Morley near Leeds and would travel to an airfield for the flight.  My flexwing is hangared at Rufforth East microlight strip in York.

I am only looking for a nice sedate flight and don't want tipping upside down.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards
Vince Gledhill

Hi Vince

I would be happy to take you, as we are based at Sherburn near Leeds,  However we are not flying at the moment because our MT prop is  having some maintenance work completed. Probably be another month or so.

What i can as a say is be prepared to have your bank account emptied  Shocked
Van's  call this flight you are asking for as the $80,000 check ride. This is probably on the conservative side.
You also said you wanted a  sedate flight ? Why do you want a Vans aircraft ? This doesn’t compute  Grin

Cheers

Mark

Hi Mark.

Please could you give me a call on my mobile 07717 582421 to arrange the test flight?

I would send you a personal message but unfortunately my post count has to be 100 to do so????

Regards
Vince

Not so fast Mr Newall... already spoken to him about the $90,000 check ride...

Oh… btw forgot to mention  G-II won the furthest flown trophy at the bmi flyin last week.
Which didn’t include the return flight to Goodwood to pick up the twin seat Spitfire...

Here is a clip of me trying to catch the Spit..    Just out of Goodwood routing via Popam / Brize
With the Sun going down & 90 miles to run...
No sweat with a little help from a tail wind the GNS430 showing a healthy 181 kts ground speed  Shocked

The Spitfire was taxiing in as i flew over the field  Wink

TWAS A GOOD DAY ... A VERY GOOD DAY
