Paint scheme....
19.09.2012 at 09:00:04

Morning all

Starting to think about paint schemes for my '8. I've always liked black cars and was thinking about the same for the aircraft. Whats the general consensus on painting it black? Obviously the RAF paint their Tucano's & Hawks black, but might it cause problems with the RV regarding heat absorption when left out in the sun? Might it cause problems with the glass-fibre parts?

Any ideas welcome!

Many thanks

Rob

Hi Rob
John Kelsall painted his eight gloss black i dont beleive he had any
issues with glass work because of the paint colour

Here is a recent finished RV-8  finished in Matt black.

I would have thought Desert Pink would be more suited to the Sandpit
