Starter Motors

Hi All,
I am currently researching Starter Motor options for purchase. We have an O-360 A1A engine which has been modified to accept a fuel injection servo, we have fitted a Air Flow Performance FM150 unit. Reading the notes supplied with the induction snorkel it says
"The VA-132-1 Snorkel 7/8 has been molded to fit only around the Sky-Tech (Lycoming) starter with a left side solenoid. The Snorkel 7/8 will not fit any other IO-360 engine equipped with any other starter"
Not sure how current this information is, has anyone fitted any other makes of starter i.e. Hartzell units to their horizontal induction engines.

Regards

The Sky tec light weight  starter  are a lot shorter than standard startermotors.
You will need the 149 tooth starter for the I0-360
