Probably a stupid question but.......
03.05.2009 at 13:54:10

.......with a quick build kit presumably the list of 19 sign-offs aren't all required to actually be signed are they? As in, do I need to have item 4 (wing before final skinning) signed off as it was factory built. Want to make sure I don't accidentally miss out any sign-offs which could cause me problems later on.
Of the 19 stages, can anyone tell me exactly which ones they had signed off please? And did they wait until the end of building before doing them all?

Thanks all  Wink

Take a look under your wings - you will find a huge hole.............................

That needs skinning, therefore your inspector can sign it off before you put the final skin on.

By the way - it hurts a lot putting that skin on.

Well, so my brother said cos he was bucking and I was shooting !

I  managed to rivet the bottom skins alone (Billy no mates!)
Mike is right it certainly does take it out of your arms. Use some thin paper towel and gaffer tape on your arms... it won't win you a fashion contest but certainly cuts down on the discomfort !

There is a positioning knack and a sequence but certainly doable my inspector checked it afterwards with a mirror and torch ... no problemo !!    Wink

Just about to do 'The Final Skin' - front of canopy behind firewall.

If anyone has any suggestions, please post - my Bro will appreciate it - he just had a hernia fixed and will have to spend 2 hours on his back under the coaming  Roll Eyes

I fully clecoed the skin in place - when stretched lipped and happy with fit. I lifted one side and riveted top rivets, was able to do on my own.

Great how threads meander  Cool

Thanks Tim, will look at the shots but seems a good way to tackle the middle rivets.  Our skin, like all of them fit well, so it should be less painful for Bro.

Mark,

Will let you know - if Bro is OK, he will struggle on - RAF spirit don't you know, Baaaaah !
