RV& Left Elevator question
14.01.2010 at 09:56:51

Hi

The Vans instructions say to machine countersink the attachement rivet hole for E-705 (root rib) to E-606PP (trim spar), side not important.

I can't see the point in doing this, would have thought that a non-countersunk rivet would be better. Perhaps I'm missing something ?

I think it is because these are AD3 rivets and Vans only supply countersunk head rivets in that size.

Hi Tony

John is right regarding the universal  AD3 rivet
I have almost finished my slow build seven and the only place in the kit where Vans supplys a universal AD3 rivet is the filtered air box kit
