Hi! This is a message for all RV owners. My mate and I are thinking of building or buying an RV7/9 and have seen several todate. We both like the sliding cockpit/canopy arrangement but notice that there are more tilt or lift up models on the market. Is this just a preference thing or is there some other reason for so many RV's to have the lift up canopy? Our thinking is in relation to taxying on hot or gusty days conditions, the lift up looks more vulnerable.
Any comments, experience warmly received.

Thanks for the info. A further thought is safety, what would happen in a belly up situation how would you get out from a lifter? it's a thought...
